Future trends in geospatial information management

" Forum on the future trends in geospatial information management: the five to ten year vision

24 April 2012, 14:00-17:00

RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

A working group was established to assess the future trends in geospatial information management at the 1st meeting of the UN Committee on Global Geospatial Information Management (GGIM, http://ggim.un.org/ ) in Seoul, Korea. Chaired by Dr. Vanessa Lawrence, Director General and Chief Executive of Ordnance Survey, the working group has received written inputs from 29 persons or institutions. A summary of the future trends shall be presented during this forum in Amsterdam, followed by discussion among all the participants. Meanwhile, the process of soliciting views on future trends continue and the working group welcome any additional inputs. A consolidated paper on the future trends shall be discussed in the 2nd Session of the Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management. Output from that session will then be used to develop further iterations of the document to be presented to the Committee for review at its second formal meeting in New York in August (13-15th August 2012). Final editing will take place based on the content of the discussions at this meeting and a final paper will be presented at the Second High-Level Forum on GGIM in Qatar (4-6 February, 2013).

Luis Manuel Ferrão, of EC DG INFSO/E4  registered today to attend the Mobile GIS Conference organised by HUNAGI. Mr. Ferrao is expert of the European Digital Agenda, the PSI Directive and the Copyright laws. Actually he arrives to attend the Internal Thematic Seminar of the EU FP7 LAPSI project devoted to licencing.

Mobile GIS Conference on-line registration (bilingual)

Please note, prior on-line registration is mandatory to get badge upon arrival. Only registered participants receives information on the participation fee payment.
Deadline for bank transfer of the participation fee is March 12, 2012. Completion of bank transfer will be checked and invoices will be given at the Conference reception desk upon arrival.

Participation fee for individuals:

Non-HUNAGI, non-ITS Hungary, non-MLBKT or non-HUNSPACE members:  15 000 HUF/person, otherwise 10 000 HUF/person.

Speakers of the Opening and Closing Plenary Sessions are guest of HUNAGI, in their case no registration fee will be applied. For registered graduate and pos-graduate students no registration fee will be applied if they are ready not to take catering services including dinner.

On-site registration is not possible.
