A 3-day conference devoted to promising future European technologies has been successfully completed in Budapest this week. Neelie Kroes, Vice President of the European Commission announced the six selected technologies which will receive significant support in the coming years:
- FuturICT - The FuturICT Knowledge Accelerator and Crisis-Relief System: Unleashing the Power of Information for a Sustainable Future
- Graphene - Graphene Science and technology for ICT and beyond
- Guardian Angels - Guardian Angels for a Smarter Planet
- HBP - The Human Brain Project
- ITFoM - IT Future of Medicine: a revolution in healthcare
- RoboCom - Robot Companions for Citizens
The conference and exhibition was official event under the Hungarian Presidency of the European Council. Tamás Fellegi, Minister of National Development and József Pálinkás, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences made presentations too.
One of the flagship technology FuturICT was already introduced by HUNAGI on its blog devoted to the future.
