Under the chairmanship of Mr. Gábor Horváth, Director General of the Department of Land Administration and Geoinformation of MoARD the Prep Com discussed the agenda initiated by Dr. Szabolcs Mihály, Director General of FÖMI. PrepCom has the aim to prepare the arrangements needed to host a PCC Meeting scheduled for the Hungarian EU Presidentship in the first Semester of 2011. HUNAGI proposed a separated but coordinated event next to the PCC Meeting by involving EUROGI and Eurogeographics in line with their MoU just signed by Ms.Dorine Burmanje President of Eurogeographics and Professor Mauro Salvemini President of EUROGI. The conference would be devoted to Cadastre - SDI - eGovernment with the aim to share best practice and information with the participants coming also from non-EU countries of the region. A message on the fundamental role of cadastre and SDI for a better governance and sustainale socio-economic development would be also foreseen.
The Prep Com member present include from left to right around the table: Dr. Gertrúd Sipos Head of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Land Office, András Osskó, former Deputy Head of the Capital Land Office, Gábor Horváth, Head of DLAG MoARD, Sándor Tóth, Deputy Head DLAG MoARD, Dr. Szabolcs Mihály, Director General of the Institute of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing (FÖMI), Éva Harbula, Head of the Secretariat, FÖMI as well as Senior Counsellor Béla Pokoly of DLAG MoARD.
Mission goals and strategic priorities include: Act according to the European Commission INSPIRE principles and coordinate with the UNSDI development process. Support national/cross-border implementation of the INSPIRE Directive. Awareness raising on SDI at political level. Strengthen cohesion between stakeholders and other interested parties ie. public services, SMEs and SDICs. Provide synergies in local, regional, national and global dimensions with outreach towards EU neighbouring countries
